Getting there
Torre Crestarella sits on the cliffs at Vietri sul Mare, the first town on the Amalfi Coast. Here is how to reach it.

Fair warning: the tower is not step-free - there are quite a lot of steps down from the road. Choose shoes accordingly, and if stairs are a struggle, tell us and we'll plan for you.
By train - the easy way
If you can, leave the car behind. The coast road is beautiful and, on a June weekend, extremely slow.
The station is Vietri sul Mare - Costa d'Amalfi. From Salerno it is under ten minutes, with regional trains roughly every half hour, and city buses if you would rather. From Naples it is about 57 minutes on the metropolitan line, which leaves every half hour or so from the underground platforms at Napoli Centrale (Piazza Garibaldi).
There is a lift at Vietri station that takes you straight up to Piazza Matteotti in the old town, which saves a steep walk with a suitcase.
Flying in
The closest airport is Salerno Costa d'Amalfi (aeroportosalerno.it) - about half an hour away by car or taxi, with routes growing every season. If you can land there, do.
Otherwise Naples is the big hub: the Alibus runs from the terminal to Napoli Centrale every fifteen minutes or so, and from there you are one train from Vietri.
By car
From the north, take the A3 Naples-Salerno and come off at the Vietri sul Mare exit.
From the south, take the A2 Salerno-Reggio Calabria, leave at Salerno and follow signs for the Costiera Amalfitana - Vietri is the first town you reach.
Parking
Torre Crestarella has its own car park with around forty spaces, though not every guest will get one, and many places to stay have no parking at all.
The free spaces (white lines) are below the main piazza in Vietri. There is also a guarded private car park in the centre of town on 333 409 7930.
Failing that, the paid municipal spaces (blue lines) are by the railway station, near the tower itself, in the old town piazza, at Marina di Vietri, and by the sports ground at Marina di Vietri.
While you are here
Vietri is the home of Amalfi Coast ceramics, and worth a wander for that alone - the vast Solimene factory is a piece of architecture in its own right, and there are lovely things at Pinto, Liguori, D'Acunto and Mirkò.
Salerno is a forty-five minute walk along the coast, or a few minutes by bus or train: a long seafront promenade, a good old town, and a beautiful cathedral cloister.
For Amalfi, Positano and Capri, the ferries from Marina di Vietri are far pleasanter than the road - timetables are on travelmar.it. SITA buses run the coast road if you would rather stay on land.
